Music Craft NW turns the lens on a Portland industry hiding in plain sight: the independent makers building instruments and audio equipment heard on stages around the world.
Connecting makers, musicians, industry and policymakers to strengthen one of North America’s most remarkable music manufacturing ecosystems through research, storytelling and a public launch party where the gear takes the stage.
Portland is home to one of the most remarkable concentrations of independent music manufacturers anywhere in the world. Effects pedals used on stages in Tokyo. Synthesizers in studios across Europe. Microphones built a few miles from here, capturing records you’ve heard a thousand times.
Most people have no idea this community exists. Music Craft NW is changing that.
On October 24, we’re putting their work on stage. Every amp, pedal, drum and microphone you hear was built here, and the people who built them will be in the room.
Built Here. Heard Everywhere.
As part of ADX Fest, Music Craft NW puts that claim on stage. A live backline built entirely from Northwest-made gear, performances that double as demonstrations, and the people who make it all in the room.
Built Here. Heard Everywhere.
